Job Description and Responsibilities:
  • Design, plan, test, and implement LANs and WANs 
  • Configure routers, switches, and other network hardware
  • Configure DNS servers and appliances
  • Provides specifications and detailed schematics for network architecture.
  • Provides specific, detailed information for hardware and software selection, implementation techniques, and tools for the most efficient solution to meet business needs, including present and future capacity requirements.
  • Maintains technical expertise in all areas of network and computer hardware and software interconnection and interfacing, such as routers, switchers, firewalls, hubs, bridges, gateways, etc.
  • Evaluates and reports on new network technologies to enhance capabilities of the network.
  • Communicate clearly to management when resolving issues and the subsequent failure analysis.
  • Perform technical diagramming, configuration, scripting, testing, and integration activities as required for successful migration
  • Troubleshoot and problem solves to remediate issues prohibiting migration or uncovered by migration
  • Participate in on-call escalations to troubleshoot escalate critical issues
  • Develops and maintains installation and configuration procedures; contribute to and maintain system standards, policies, and procedures.
  • Experience working and managing networks supporting government systems
  • Demonstrated ability to interface with the customer, vendors, and other technical staff to analyze business and technical requirements, prioritize tasks, and ensure all project stakeholders and members are kept current related to status of assigned projects/tasks.
  • Experience with (including the ability to setup, configure, upgrade, manage, and troubleshoot) Juniper routers, switches, firewalls, SRX's, and Riverbed devices
  • Knowledge of Cloud-enabling with Application Delivery product landscape (new vendors/technologies) and / or experience with unified communications to include Avaya Telephony, Cisco UC, or Skype for Business for the enterprise.
  • Experience in the application of DISA STIGs to network devices
  • Deep understanding of networking protocols
Education and Experience:
  • Bachelor’s Degree 
  • 7 years related experience
